You probably know some baby boomers. You may be one, or your parents or grandparents may be of that generation. Some have heard the term but they have no idea what it really means. We are used to hearing about Generation X and even the newer ones, but what of those who have been around for a while, and may be near or entering the years of retirement? They may be older, but they still have a lot of influence on the world.
The baby boomers are often a targeted market because there are so many of them. These were children that were a result of soldiers returning from World War 2. Many babies were born in the following years, and they are to date one of the largest generations alive. They are also in high places, many of them holding positions of power in both government and in the private sector as well. Baby boomers are well celebrated, and should be respected.

Baby Boomers
There is a lot to learn from the baby boomers. They have a culture all their own, and have shaped our world. Their ideas about health and well being are often not of their parents, as they take things more seriously, but they are still not aging as well as once hoped. That’s not for all of them of course, but for some, retirement might not be what they wished. Whatever the case though, they are trying to age gracefully, even though some aren’t having much luck.
Whatever their health issues, those younger should take advantage of what the baby boomers have seen and lived through. There is wisdom that comes with experience, and that makes them valuable in more ways than one. If you want the answers to life, ask the baby boomers. They won’t have the answers of course, but their ideas might be closer than one might think. There is always something the generations that come later can learn from the ones that came before them. Don’t let that knowledge die away.
For those who are baby boomers, share with your family what you have learned. Know that as you age, you have your family behind you, and they can benefit from what you have to say, even if they seem to be less than interested. Also remember what when no one else seems to understand, there is help out there. There are many websites devoted to and for the baby boomer, and you may find more comfort there than you ever imagined.
